King Herod the Great of Judea was known to have A very good relationship with Augustus. He builds The grand city of Caesarea in his honor including the most magnificent of ports in the Ancient world which he names Sebastus. Herod builds another city to honor Augustus Sebastus.
Augustus ruled the Empire at the time of the nativity and his minted coins were in circulation at the times of Jesus.
